Description |
Our client is looking for one Solution Architect Specialist to join the Major Capital Projects area responsible for delivery of all information technology projects. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Architecture, the Architect Specialist is accountable for assisting the planning process and the subsequent delivery of architecture within the planned capital projects. Note: This is hybrid 1-2 days per week in Office. Location is Edmonton, Alberta. |

Experience Required/Mandatory Skills |
As the successful candidate, you have: 6+ years in Information Technology. Ideally a large portion of that time will have been spent doing capital projects and or solution architecture in a mix of Azure cloud platform(cloud) and Oracle technology stack(on-prem) Critical analytical skills that allow you to determine the best direction for solution architecture through review of multiple data sources. Excellent problem-solving skills to ensure that all options are reviewed and that a single solution for all business has been considered. Good communication and presentation skills that will allow you to solicit input for an architecture and ensure that others within Information Technology understand the architecture and the rationale.
MUST HAVE / SKILLS: Azure Services: Proficiency in Azure Data Lake, Azure Databricks, Azure Stream Analytics, and Azure Data Factory is essential. Understanding how to integrate these services to build comprehensive data solutions is crucial. Data Management: Strong knowledge of data modeling, data warehousing, ETL processes, and data governance. Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL databases, as well as data security and compliance, is important. Programming and Scripting: Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, and SQL. Scripting skills for automation and data manipulation are also valuable. Cloud Architecture: Understanding cloud architecture principles, including scalability, high availability, disaster recovery, and cost management. Knowledge of the Azure Well-Architected Framework can be particularly useful. Soft Skills: Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with stakeholders, developers, and other IT professionals. Big Data Technologies: Experience with big data technologies like Hadoop, Spark, and Kafka can be beneficial, especially for handling large-scale data processing and real-time analytics Machine Learning and AI: Familiarity with machine learning frameworks and tools, such as Azure Machine Learning, TensorFlow, and PyTorch. Experience in building and deploying machine learning models is a plus. DevOps and CI/CD: Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools, including continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines. Experience with Azure DevOps or similar platforms is advantageous.
