Description

The RFS Project Coordinator will be leading a team in the development, implementation and execution of information technology projects or are responsible for a complex specialized area within IT. Communication with stakeholders and co-workers will be essential in ensuring that project deliverables meet client expectation. The position will use diverse IT expertise to operate independently on assigned work or provide guidance to others.

This role is responsible for the coordination and completion of IT projects and oversees all aspects of projects. It builds and maintains working relationships with team members, vendors, and other departments involved in the projects while preparing project status reports for upper management.

RFS Project Coordinator is responsible for the planning, managing, and reporting on projects that range from internal branch or divisional based projects to ones that are single ministry or multi-ministry initiated and vary in scope and size. The RFS Project Coordinator will be responsible for one or more projects at any one time and will be responsible for ensuring stakeholder governance is effective, efficient, and constructively moving towards the direction of demonstrating value and benefits.

A Request for Service (RFS) initiated by a business area is triaged to the RFS Delivery Team when project coordination involving more than one information technology (IT) team is required -- to fulfill a GoA Service Catalogue standard service.

Experience Required/Mandatory Skills

Experience as a project coordinator leading technical teams in multiple implementation and execution of information technology projects in an environment of similar size and complexity to the Government of Alberta

Experience defining project scope and goals in collaboration with business stakeholders.

Experience developing project deliverables including project charters, business cases, briefing notes, status reports, risk logs and project closures.

Experience in a project management role.

Experience managing multiple projects concurrently.

Nice To Have Skills

Experience coordinating IT infrastructure projects for Government of Alberta, either working directly for GoA, or for vendors supporting projects for GoA.

Experience coordinating server/application migrations across security zones and/or coordinating staff moves between floors or buildings for Government of Alberta or similarly sized IT enterprise.

Experience developing and maintaining positive stakeholder relationships across the organization, including executive level.

Experience leading and facilitating meetings with stakeholders at all levels.

Experience leading change management and communication planning.

Experience working in an enterprise architect environment.
