If you're passionate about strategic transformation, thrive in complex environments, and want to make a tangible difference in public service, this is your chance to be part of something impactful.
As a Business Consultant, you will collaborate closely with diverse stakeholders across technical and organizational lines to design, develop, and execute large-scale infrastructure modernization projects. Your expertise will help redefine operational practices, develop comprehensive strategies for hybrid cloud environments, and establish resilient disaster recovery and business continuity frameworks—all while aligning with industry best practices like ITIL. If you have a knack for navigating complex projects, fostering positive relationships, and driving impactful change, we want to hear from you!
Required Skills:
  • A university degree in business, management, or a related discipline combined with at least four years of relevant experience, or a diploma/certificate with additional years of experience as specified.
  • Proven experience delivering infrastructure modernization and service transformation projects.
  • Strong knowledge of ITIL aligned operational processes.
  • Experience supporting hybrid cloud environments (public/private cloud).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of engaging stakeholders from front-line staff to executive leadership.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain positive relationships across organizational levels.
  • Experience creating detailed business cases and facilitating strategic workshops.
Nice to Have Skills:
  • Experience conducting impact and risk assessments across multiple scenarios.
  • Skills in flowcharting, diagramming, and analysis, including data flow, process mapping, or UI wireframes.
  • Knowledge of government planning, budgeting, and policy evaluation.
  • Experience managing large-scale change initiatives and digital transformation programs.
  • Background in governance, risk management, and project management within public sector organizations.
  • Familiarity with tools like ServiceNow or similar service management platforms.
  • Capabilities in quantitative and qualitative cost-benefit analysis.
Preferred Education and Experience:
  • A university degree in business, management, or related fields paired with a minimum of four years of relevant experience.
  • Equivalent combinations of education and extensive experience that meet the outlined requirements are acceptable.
  • Experience working in a large and complex organizational environment (2000+ staff) is highly valued.
Other Requirements:
  • Ability to work onsite in Edmonton, with some potential for remote work.
  • Standard working hours are Monday through Friday, 8:15 AM to 4:30 PM Alberta time.
  • Must be located within Alberta due to network and data security considerations.
  • Willingness to support meetings and workshops involving technical, managerial, and executive stakeholders.
