Job Opportunity
Description Are you passionate about transforming government services into seamless, user-centered experiences? We're looking for a talented Service Designer to collaborate within dynamic, cross-functional teams, diving into real-world research, prototyping, and implementing impactful solutions that streamline public services and elevate citizen engagement.
What You’ll Bring to the Table:
  • Proven experience in service design research and delivering tangible outputs.
  • Strong background working within or for the public sector, especially in government or similar large-scale environments.
  • Expertise collaborating in Agile teams, contributing to all phases from discovery through to delivery.
Nice to Have Skills include:
  • Experience planning and analyzing qualitative field research and reporting insights.
  • Facilitation of co-design workshops with service users to co-create solutions.
  • Skills conducting usability testing on prototypes and production systems.
  • Track record delivering digital services, including concept testing and prototyping, within a cross-functional team.
  • Knowledge of organizational change management, policy shifts, and service transformation initiatives, particularly within digital government projects.
  • Familiarity with digital transformation efforts within the Canadian Public Sector.
  • A polished PDF portfolio showcasing your previous work in service design, user research, and project deliverables.
Preferred Education & Experience:
  • A degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Public Administration, or a related field is preferred.
  • Several years of experience working in service design, preferably in government or large organizational settings, with proven success managing complex projects.
Other Requirements:
  • Ability to work primarily remotely, with occasional meetings or work sessions in Edmonton, Alberta.
  • Willingness to engage in field research across Alberta as needed.
  • A valid portfolio attachment demonstrating your expertise.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with evolving project scopes and deliverables.
