Our client, a national leader in environmental regulatory management, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Data Architect to shape the future of their data landscape. What you’ll bring to the table:
  • Demonstrated expertise designing, planning, implementing, and supporting enterprise solution databases in environments comparable to the Government of Alberta.
  • Proven experience documenting complex enterprise database architectures in large-scale environments.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise architecture principles, standards, tools, and best practices.
  • Hands-on experience working as a Data Architect within large, complex IT ecosystems.
  • Ability to translate business needs into scalable, efficient data structures and models.
Nice to have:
  • Certification in The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF).
  • Experience designing enterprise architecture databases that align data, information, and technology with business capabilities.
  • Skilled in performing threat and risk assessments, presenting mitigation strategies to senior leadership.
  • Proficiency with architecture modeling tools such as PowerDesigner, ER Studio, ER-win, BPwin, or Rational Rose.
  • Experience managing application development projects using Agile methodologies.
  • Knowledge of enterprise business intelligence products like Microsoft Power BI.
  • Proven leadership, project planning, and presentation skills.
Preferred Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a Data Architect role within a large, enterprise-scale environment.
Other requirements:
  • Willingness to work primarily remotely with occasional office presence within Alberta.
  • Ability to participate in meetings or working sessions with short notice.
  • Travel expenses for Alberta-based meetings will be covered.
  • Familiarity with emerging analytical tools and data structures supporting advanced analytics (e.g., Databricks) is a plus.
