What you will do: Validate and test core data models using environmental monitoring and regulatory datasets Conduct semantic analysis to ensure data consistency, normalization, and comparability Develop exploratory analytical views to assess aggregation, trend stability, and scalability of models Identify potential edge cases early to refine data architecture Collaborate closely with program teams and technical staff during the model design and build phases Required Skills: Strong experience with data validation, testing core models, and working with large datasets Expertise in semantic analysis, including data normalization and measurement comparability Proficiency in building analytical prototypes within data management platforms Ability to analyze environmental monitoring data and identify data integrity issues Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail Nice to Have Skills: Experience working with environmental monitoring or regulatory data Familiarity with data modeling tools and unified business object frameworks Knowledge of environmental standards and measurement protocols Experience in model testing and validation cycles Preferred Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Environmental Science, or related field 3+ years of experience in data analysis or model validation roles Proven track record of working with large, complex datasets in a regulated environment Other Requirements: Ability to work from Alberta on a flexible schedule, with occasional in-office visits once a month Strong communication skills to set and manage client expectations Willingness to adapt and learn within a collaborative team environment Ready to influence real-world environmental outcomes with your data expertise?
