Our client, a leader in modernizing justice services, is seeking an experienced IT Program Manager to orchestrate complex projects that shape the future of court technology within Alberta. As the IT Program Manager, you will:
- Oversee the planning, coordination, and successful delivery of the Justice Digital Program, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and stakeholder expectations.
- Manage multiple projects that involve developing and implementing IT solutions compliant with enterprise architecture and technical standards.
- Collaborate closely with courts, vendors, and government departments to foster effective communication and ensure project success.
- Lead efforts in digital delivery, agile development, and organizational transformation, providing strategic recommendations and facilitating stakeholder engagement.
- Monitor project progress, prepare detailed reports, and navigate risks and issues to keep initiatives on track.
- Guide project teams through change management, governance, and stakeholder relationships, especially with senior leadership.
To thrive in this role, you will need:
- A university degree in business, management, or a related discipline plus four years of project management experience, or equivalent qualifications that demonstrate your capability.
- Proven success defining project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Extensive experience managing multiple, complex IT projects, especially custom application development with sizable teams.
- Strong skills in project planning, risk assessment, resource management, and stakeholder communication.
- Experience leading large, cross-organizational IT modernization programs, ideally within a public sector environment.
- Exceptional leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills that empower teams and foster productive relationships.
Nice to have skills include:
- Active PMP or PGMP certification from PMI.
- Experience with impact and risk assessments, budget management, and project governance.
- Knowledge of public sector frameworks, legislated projects, and short-duration mission-critical initiatives.
- Familiarity working on IT projects involving complex information management and technology solutions.
Preferred educational background and experience:
- Degree in business, management, or related field with at least four years of project management experience, or equivalent proven expertise in large-scale IT program delivery.
- Demonstrated ability to manage projects in highly regulated, legislated environments with expedited timelines.
Other requirements:
- Willingness to work fully onsite within the Alberta Courts environment.
- Ability to obtain an enhanced security clearance, including a criminal record check.
- Availability for potential project extensions up to 24 months.
