Job Opportunity
Description Aplin (Vantix) is seeking Trainers (senior and intermediate levels may be considered) to lead government-wide 1GX training and outreach by designing and delivering role-based learning solutions aligned to validated stakeholder needs. The succesfull candidate(s) will define training strategies, build high-quality training materials, facilitate instructor-led and online sessions, and ensure ongoing training quality and currency through governance, standards, and continuous improvement.

What you’ll do
  • Define role-based training strategy, scope, delivery approach (instructor-led, virtual, blended, self-paced), and success measures.
  • Design, develop, and deliver complex learning solutions for multiple audiences using established templates/standards.
  • Partner with program leadership, SMEs, vendors, and the 1GX Change Network to validate learning needs, confirm training readiness (content, environments, job aids), and align timing.
  • Own training governance: intake/prioritization, review/approval cycles, QA, version control, and content maintenance as processes/releases evolve.
  • Establish evaluation and continuous improvement practices (feedback, attendance, knowledge checks, performance insights) and drive prioritized updates.
  • Coach/mentor junior trainers and contributors to support consistent delivery and strong learner outcomes.
  • Use approved digital/collaboration tools to improve development, delivery, engagement, and reporting (aligned to Government of Alberta standards).
What you bring
  • Proven experience delivering enterprise training across diverse stakeholder groups (public sector/large organizations is an asset).
  • Strong instructional design and facilitation skills (live and virtual), including role-based curriculum design.
  • Experience creating and maintaining training artifacts (courseware, job aids, reference guides) with strong attention to quality, consistency, and version control.
  • Comfort working in structured governance environments with multiple reviewers/approvers and evolving content.
  • Ability to translate complex business/ERP process concepts into practical, learner-friendly materials.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management, and continuous-improvement mindset
This role is 100% on site in Edmonton.
