Job Opportunity
Description Project Manager 
Step into an exciting opportunity to lead cutting-edge IT projects that make a real difference in the community! As a key player overseeing a diverse array of Engineering and Public Works Operational Technology initiatives, you will work across departments to coordinate the delivery and adoption of innovative systems like SCADA upgrades, Waste Management systems, Meeting Room Technologies, and more. This role is perfect for a driven professional eager to manage impactful projects in a dynamic public sector environment, with an eye toward digital transformation and operational excellence.
 
Responsibilities
  • Prepare project charters, master project plans, risk assessments, and risk management strategies.
  • Coordinate municipal and technical resources to meet project goals.
  • Manage project scope, timelines, budgets, and quality control.
  • Administer change controls and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
  • Support stakeholder engagement, change management, and operational transitions.
  • Develop and present project status reports, dashboards, issue logs, and risk registers to senior leadership.
  • Collaborate with IT security, privacy, and records management teams to ensure compliance.
 
Qualifications
  • A 2-year certificate in Computer Science, Engineering, e-Commerce, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Project Management certification (such as CAPM, PMP, or PgMP) is a plus.
  • Over 5 years of experience in IT project management, with a minimum of 2 years as a designated Project Manager.
  • Proven skills in project planning, scope management, timetables, and risk mitigation.
  • Strong communication abilities to work with cross-disciplinary teams and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Teams, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Experience supporting large-scale projects (some over $1M) and working with security, privacy, and records standards.
  • Experience with Microsoft M365 suite, Asset Management Program systems, SCADA/OT systems, or cloud initiatives like IaaS, PaaS, SaaS. (nice to have)
  • Relevant bachelor’s degree combined with practical project management experience, particularly in public sector settings.
