Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, document, and maintain data applications and solutions
  • Collaborate actively within Agile teams through sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives
  • Assist in technical decision-making alongside project architects
  • Conduct quality assurance to ensure robust, reliable results
  • Support various IT initiatives awith a focus on data analytics and reporting
Qualifications
  • Completion of a 4-year degree in Computer Science or Engineering, or a 2-year diploma in Computer Engineering/System Technology
  • Minimum 5 years of professional software development experience
  • Expertise in Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Python, PySpark, SQL, and Unity Catalogue
  • Strong proficiency in Power BI (DAX), Paginated Reports, Oracle BI, Oracle SQL, and Row Level Security
  • Proven ability to learn new technologies rapidly and adapt to evolving project needs
  • Excellent analytical, research, and problem-solving skills, with a focus on quality assurance
Nice to Have Skills
  • Experience with LakeFS, Azure DevOps, and other Azure services
  • Additional proficiency in SQL, Python, and DAX scripting
  • Data modeling expertise
Preferred Education and Experience
  • A background in Computer Science, Engineering, or System Technology
  • Significant hands-on experience with data analytics, reporting, and modern cloud-based data tools
Other Requirements
  • Ability to work on-site in downtown Edmonton two days a week, with the possibility of remote arrangements based on experience and qualifications
  • Must be adaptable, eager to learn, and comfortable navigating new technologies
  • Willingness to contribute actively to project planning and delivery cycles
