Description Senior Data Architect

Step into a pivotal role where your expertise will shape the future of data management for a vital public service transformation. As a Senior Data Architect, you'll lead the charge in designing and implementing a secure, high-performance data architecture to support enterprise reporting, analytics, and operational needs. Working closely with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and external vendors, you'll craft innovative data solutions aligned with strategic goals and standards, empowering decision-makers and enhancing operational efficiency.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead the design, documentation, and implementation of enterprise data architectures tailored for large, complex cloud-based applications.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather data requirements and establish robust data principles, models, and standards.
  • Develop and present complex data concepts clearly to non-technical audiences and senior leadership.
  • Oversee data migration activities, ensuring high data quality and accuracy during large-scale system transitions.
  • Implement and govern enterprise data policies, including data security, privacy, and compliance measures.
  • Enable complex reporting and analytics solutions, notably with Power BI and Microsoft’s Azure ecosystem.
  • Lead data transformation, orchestration, and integration efforts using ETL/ELT processes and modern data management techniques.
  • Conduct security, threat, and risk assessments to mitigate potential vulnerabilities.
Qualifications:
  • Degree or diploma in Computer Science or a related field, with certification recognized by Immigration Canada or equivalent.
  • Proven experience as a Data Architect in large-scale, cloud-based environments, ideally within the public sector or government settings.
  • Strong expertise in designing data models within Microsoft Dataverse, Dynamics 365, and Azure cloud services.
  • Experience with enterprise data governance, security, and compliance standards.
  • Hands-on experience with Power BI, Azure Data Lake, Synapse Analytics, Databricks, and data orchestration tools.
  • Familiarity with Agile project methodologies and leading large data migration initiatives.
  • Certifications such as TOGAF and Azure AZ-305 are highly desirable.
  • Other requirements include familiarity with security and risk assessments, and the ability to lead and coach multi-disciplinary teams through large implementations.
