Job Opportunity
Description Our Client is seeking a BI Analyst to drive strategic decisions by designing, developing, and optimizing advanced Power BI solutions that turn large, intricate datasets into compelling visual stories. Your work will support making data-driven choices that benefit citizens across Alberta.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and refine Power BI dashboards, reports, and KPIs for diverse stakeholders.
  • Analyze large datasets to identify trends, forecast future patterns, and support predictive analytics.
  • Collaborate with teams to gather and understand business requirements for analytical projects.
  • Develop and implement complex data models, measures, and calculated columns using DAX.
  • Present insights to executives and business users clearly and effectively.
  • Perform data quality reviews, data mining, and statistical analysis to ensure accuracy and integrity.
  • Support the development of data products and services aligned with the organization’s data strategy.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, or a related field; equivalent experience considered.
  • Proven hands-on experience with Power BI, including visualization techniques, data modeling, and DAX.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience working on large and complex datasets.
  • Experience in trend analysis, forecasting, and predictive analytics using Power BI and Azure analytics tools.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of translating technical findings for non-technical audiences.
  • Experience in SQL for data transformations and querying large-scale environments is a plus.
  • Knowledge of government data sets or working in a regulated environment is advantageous.
